Who am I?
I am a student.
I got my BSc in mathematics and biochemistry in 2024. I had a brief stint in theoretical physics, and then fell in love with topology. I am currently in my final term of my MSc in mathematics, in the homestretch writing my thesis!
I am a mathematician.
I study low-dimensional topology. What I love most of all are knots and manifolds in dimensions 3 to 5.
A Topology Aside
topology is a branch of math that studies shapes and spaces.
I am a math lover.
Sharing the true essence of math with the world and helping others experience its beauty -- especially those of whom have been scared astray by math -- is a dream of mine.
I hope one day the world will understand what mathematicians mean when they say that math is beautiful.
I am a math-sci communicator.
I most love being faced with the challenge of explaining what pure math really entails to non-specialists — a very rewarding one at that, to see the moment someone’s eyes open and they feel included in this world for the first time.
I am an artist.
In addition to mentoring, outreach, and teaching, I create mixed media and illustrate mathematical worlds. Visuals come naturally to sciences like bio, but in math, we have to make them or they won’t exist. I channel design into creating notes and math infographics that are engaging to look at and honour rigorous math. I first brought this vision to life as first place winner of uOttawa’s math poster competition.
I am a gym bro.
Outside of academics, I love training weightlifting and calisthenics (I’m a newbie).
I’m a freelance designer based in Los Angeles, CA. I’ve worked with brands like Nordo, Facely, Fazo.
My story
My approach to design draws on influences ranging from contemporary streetwear to classical fine art. When working with a new client, my first goal is to understand the stories they’re trying to tell with their visual elements and start building my graphic design around them. Whether it’s branding or editorial, my work always has something to say.
